Immersed in the moment I am in a process of co-creation with the impossibly beautiful energy all around me. I make friends with the image that wants to be painted or the wood longing to be carved. And in turn they help me see what is longing to emerge from my own psyche.
And so this is my work. Hopefully you’ll come on this journey with me through purchasing my art, attending a workshop or retreat, ordering a reading…or just by loving the things I love. Feel free to reach out through my contact page if you have questions.
With warmest regards,
Chandra
Who I am.
I’m a queer, Native, visual artist, photographer, astrologer and workshop facilitator who is passionate about reconnecting to sacred land, community and Self through creative process. I make and sell art, teach nature-based art workshops, host retreats and offer a wide range of astrological services including beautifully personalized natal chart posters, personalized lunar cycle prints and many other readings/art prints.
I think my superpower is that I am easily distracted. I was gifted with eyes that see beauty in everything (which, for the record makes me an impossible hiking partner). Childlike wonder, curiosity and awe are at the heart of my work. I’m captivated by dewdrops pooling on tiny leaves, a butterfly drinking nectar while drying her wings, when the leaf sitting on the sidewalk reminds me that winter is coming, when blades of grass bask in sunlight.
Because of this, my house is filled with tiny altars—pine cones, acorns, feathers, rocks, little sticks covered in lichen, dried flowers, leaves, shells—and of course these things are beautiful—but they are also an anchor back to a moment of connection when I saw something lovely, bent low to get eye level with it, introduced myself and asked if I could take it home.
In this awe, I have turned to the sky as well. I observe the planetary energies and lunar cycles coalescing with the earthly cycles—the turning of the seasons, the tides as they move in and out, the beautiful transition from light to dark and to light again. Inspired by the moon as she casts her luminous energy down to humanity, I watch the wheel of the year turn and try to stay curious as I am offered opportunities to learn more about myself, my community and our big, blue planet.
All of this cosmic energy offers a beautiful framework for self-examination and healing. And as we heal, we send ripples of healing out to our communities and to the world around us. This is the greatest work I can do to heal our planet and collective psyches. My astrological studies, time immersed in nature and creative process keep me grounded in the Truth of who I am. Bringing these energies into my art has been a wonderful way to pay tribute to the things that I’m passionate about while simultaneously bringing something new into creation. It’s art as meditation; it’s alchemy.
