Dream

Often times, in the middle of my day, I will go lay down in the grass and stare up at the sky. There’s something beautiful about allowing my body to sink into the hands of the earth. In this space, where I am cradled by divine, nature energy, I let myself dream. I breathe in and out and allow the truest desires of my heart to rise to the surface. I try not to control the content of my thoughts, but instead just listen to the longings of my heart.

These days it’s usually an ache for land of my own, a piece of property with lots of big trees, shade, rich, green fern leaves that hang over a trickling stream. It’s a tiny house that I’ve built with my own hands and an art studio full of fairy lights. It’s a big table, set for ten, out under the trees where I feed my family and friends heaps of wholesome, delicious vegan food. It’s a bathtub that you can lie in and stare up through the glass ceiling at the stars. It’s having time to sit at the edge of the water and meditate on the reflections that dance by as the water flows and flows away. It’s being at peace, being free, living a life of adventure.

What is your dream? Do you let yourself imagine a life that fills you with a sense of purpose and wonder? I hope so. If not, you can borrow my dreams.
